 mff-logo

photooneI was invited to the SHOP TIL YOU DROP runway supported by Revlon at Priceline pharmacy

The show was impressive to begin with the bright lights lit up the runway. I sat in anticipation waiting for what was about to come on show. It was a great opportunity to show all our home talent that we have in Australia. There were so many classic timeless, beautiful elegant pieces it was hard to pick a favourite. But here are all my picks from the Runway, it was impossible to pick just one so I listed as many as I could!

Enjoy!

Last night showcased these five talented Australian designers

Alice McCall

Alice McCall had a range of fun watercolour prints throughout her collection classic black and white collection. I adored the abstract prints, its quirky cool. The second outfit I adored was this sophisticated white dress, with what seemed from my eye a devoré detail on the dress. Meaning It had a semi-transparent pattern against the fabric which was absolutely divine

AKIN BY GINGER & SMART

Presented black and white textured pieces in their collection, ranging from unusual knits to silks. As well they played  with digital print on skirts and dresses. This skirt below shows off that different textured look – it’s different and not just a plain pencil skirt but a slit skirt.

The looks I picked out of the collection are versatile looks you can wear them to events to the office and straight after 5 for dinner

KEEPSAKE

Keepsake, as usual, played party to the girly inside us all with their offerings of gorgeous embellished pieces. Shorts, crop tops and pantsuits were fashioned in cool tones throughout the collection. With adequate simplicity each piece was one that could easily take its place in any girls existing closet.

SHAKUHACHI

The collection had a sophisticated 70’s modern spin to it. I fell in love with this tailored blazer featuring gold button, as well the layering different textures together creating high fashioned looks.

WHITE SUEDE

WHITE SUEDE is renowned for their quality leather pieces. The models on the night paraded sleek classic looks and timeless investment pieces. Ranging from Sublime leather jackets and coats were paraded over luxe cocktail dresses to create looks that portrayed something of a grungy vibe under the shine of it’s simplicity and class.

    mff-logo

VAMFF comes around once a year, rewarding Melbourne for the long wait leading up to our most prestigious fashion festival. New York, Paris, Milan and London Fashion Week’s are complete and finally comes our turn to celebrate the beautiful pieces that Australian and International Designers have to offer.

Melbourne’s Fashion savvy populace gathered, as usual, at Dockland Wharf for the arrival of the biggest opening show, presented by David Jones and supported by Vogue. Featuring beloved Australian brands such as Bianca Spender,Christopher Esber, Ellery,Bassike,Romance Was Born,Camilla and Marc,Carla Zampatti and Michael Lo Sordo just to name a few, it featured over 200 winter looks.

Jessica Gomes opened the show wearing a delicate sheer piece by designer Camilla. Behind her, as if playing follow the leader, were drummer boys as they drummed to the beat of the music.

Camilla

Soon after Montana Cox graced the runway with her new short locks wearing leopard print beaded dress.

As the models strutted one by one they wore beautiful, lush winter pieces ranging from leathers to knits and warm trench coats. My anticipation for each designer grew, as there was not one outfit I disapproved of.

There were quite a number of trends that were on hand. Monochrome was strongly present in the runway featuring neutral tones and minimalist looks ranging from knits to coats from Bassike, Viktoria + Woods and Camilla and Marc providing versatile stunning ensembles that caught my eye.

The 70’s silhouettes were also present, as denim and tailored flares took to the runway. As well Cox wearing a fringe black number. Not forgetting our bold colourful prints and patterns by Romance Was Born, nothing less than expected from the daring designer

VAMFF 2015: StageLabel RUNWAY 2015

Stagelabel-Light photoooo

VAMFF kicked off in style this week with the highly anticipated StageLabel cultural runway show 2015, in which designers celebrated their individual style and made their unique ‘fashion fingerprint’ in the industry. Held at the beautiful waterfront docklands the event showcased eight incredibly individual and talented emerging designers from across the globe.

The spacious warehouse swiftly began to thicken up with fashion savvy associates, sipping on flutes of champagne and nibbling on appetisers; the room seething with anticipation for the upcoming showcase. Each designer revealed four or more of their designs, ranging from classic clean silhouettes to fun and gregarious garments.  Here are my fashion choices of the night.

Delightful Darling

Hayleah’s garments are a celebration of fairy tales. Her creations are marvellously unique wholly inspired and based upon fairytale books. This collection was inspired by “The Folk of the Faraway Tree” by Enid Blyton.
My pick is the pixie trousers they’re very unique statement piece.

The fabrics they used in their collection were rich and vibrant. The lily dress not only beautifully made in this royal purple colour which I love, but the detail beading on the tenunan panelling across the chest.
